Description

Dan Barry Tarzan Daily Comic Strip Original Art #2894 (United Feature Syndicate, 1948). Tarzan interrupts a ritual sacrifice to engage a charging lion in combat. Powerful panoramic layout propels the eye rapidly from left to right. Barry's vision of the lion is more scary than it is scientifically accurate -- but the drama of the moment is all that matters. Ink over graphite on Strathmore Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 18.75" x 5", matted. Handling wear and toning, with old glue stains over the text areas where paste-ups have been removed. Very Good condition.
