Description
Who Framed Roger Rabbit Jessica Rabbit Story/Concept Painting (Walt Disney/Amblin, 1988). The early development/story work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit was done by legendary storyboard/concept artist, David Russell who is credited as Production Illustrator on the film. He has produced storyboards and story development art for over 80 major motion pictures. His work helped shape such films as Star Wars Episode IV- Return of the Jedi, Tombstone, The Thin Red Line, Harlem Nights, Moulin Rouge, Wolverine, and Narnia to name a few. His drawings provide a visual narrative of a film's script and a shooting guide. This is an original painting of Jessica Rabbit with Eddie Valiant after she comes out of the shower. The scene was omitted from the film as it was determined to be too suggestive. This very early development painting also features an Eddie Valiant that resembles Harrison Ford, who was the actor first considered for this role. A little-known fact about Jessica is that she graced the covers of both French and Italian issues of Penthouse Magazine with nude pictorials inside. The acrylic painting is on paper mounted to 8.5" x 11" board. This is easily one of the most important pieces of early Jessica Rabbit art we have ever offered. The board has some tape on borders, overall condition is Very Good. From the David Russell Collection.Auction Info
