Description
The Story of Walt Disney Illustration Original Art (Walt Disney, c. 1970-80s). Al Dempster painted the original artwork for The Story of Walt Disney book cover in 1956. The book was written by Diane Disney Miller and published by Henry Holt & Co (New York). Several decades later the studio needed this original artwork but it could not be located. The studio asked Disney artist, Andrew Phillipson if he could recreate the original Dempster painting. Offered in this lot is the original Phillipson painting of Walt, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and Donald. The piece was rendered in gouache on illustration board of 16" x 24". The image area measures 14" x 21.5". The artwork is signed by the artist. A very rare piece of historical Disney artwork! Edge wear and handling wear.
