Description
Bewitched Samantha Production Cel Group of 2 (Hanna-Barbera, 1964). The classic story of a witch who marries a mortal man and vows to live her life as a typical suburban housewife without the use of her magical powers. Bewitched was created by Sol Saks under executive director Harry Ackerman, and starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens. Presented in this lot in an original production cel of Samantha from the animated opening sequence, seen in every episode. The show debuted on ABC on 9/17/64 and ran for eight seasons, a total of 254 episodes. The piece was hand-painted on 12 field acetate and placed over a background layout drawing indicating the field size for camera. Layout rendered in color pencil on animation paper. Noted on the piece is "Bewitched SC 2." Included in this lot is a very rare early black and white layout copy for the sequence featuring Darin and Samantha on 12 field animation paper. A great vintage piece of production art from a classic all-American TV show! Minor handling and edge wear. Age-related toning on animation paper. Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
