Description

Disneyland "America Sings!" Storyboards Group of 5 (Walt Disney, 1974). This audio animatronics attraction at Disneyland ran from June 29, 1974 until April 10, 1988. It was a musical history of the USA, featuring songs from various times in our history, presented at the Carousel Theatre with the country's Bicentennial in mind. Here is a set of rare original storyboard photographic prints, with art by one of "Walt's Nine Old Men," Marc Davis (1913 - 2000). There were four acts: The Deep South (noted on the second print as Going South) with songs like "Camptown Races" and "Down in the Valley"; Headin' West (noted on print #3 as Going West) with songs like "I've Been Working on the Railroads" and "Home on the Range"; The Gay '90s with songs like "Sweet Adeline" and "Only a Bird in a Gilded Cage"; and Modern Times with songs like "Shake, Rattle and Roll" and "Joy to the World." Animal characters included Eagle Sam and Ollie Owl (the show's "Masters of Ceremony"), Sombrero Dog, Piano Pig, and Mother Possum. Each print measures approximately 41.75" x 20" and the overall condition is Very Good with handling and edge wear.
