Description
Tim Burton "Mouse Girl" Sketch Original Art (Touchstone/Walt Disney, c. 1990s). Tim Burton's wicked sense of humor shines through in this terrific sketch. The piece is from Burton's personal sketch book and shows a woman wearing Mickey Mouse ears. Tim Burton worked as an animator, storyboard artist, graphic designer, art director and concept artist at the Walt Disney Studios on films such as The Fox and the Hound, Tron, and The Black Cauldron. While at Disney in 1982, Burton made his first short, Vincent, a six-minute black-and-white stop motion film based on a poem written by the filmmaker, and depicting a young boy who fantasizes that he is Vincent Price, followed by a live-action production Hansel and Gretel. Burton's next live-action short film was 1984's, Frankenweenie which tells the story of a young boy who tries to revive his dog after it is run over by a car. Tim Burton definitely had his own style of storytelling as we see in this original piece. The artwork was sketched in pen on paper. The piece is enclosed in a Plexiglas-fronted frame of 15" x 18" with a matboard aperture of 5.25" x 8.75". Frame sold as-is. An original piece of Tim Burton art is a must for any collector of Disney or animation art. Condition is Fine.Auction Info
