Description
Disneyland - Fantasyland Dumbo the Flying Elephant Original Silk-Screened Park Attraction Poster (Walt Disney, c. 1955-1980s). In one of Disneyland's most magical rides, Dumbo The Flying Elephant, children and adults thrill to the elephant's exploits as they take to the air. It was almost one of the park's original rides, but missed opening day by three months. As originally built, it was intended to represent the alcohol-induced "pink elephants" scene from the film. The working title of the attraction was "10 Pink Elephants On Parade" and the elephants were pink on installation. Disney objected, not wanting Disneyland's guests to ride vehicles themed to a hallucination and ordered them painted gray. The other two rides mentioned on the poster, Mad Tea Party and King Arthur's Carrousel, were both original opening day rides. The posters from Disneyland's theme park rides are highly collectible and numerous versions have been created over the years. Poster measures about 36" x 54" and comes framed. Frames are sold as-is.
