The Moon-Wielder offers a prayer-song to the sky following the beheading of a forest creature, before she turns to comfort a little girl she has just saved. A compelling moment from a dark fairy tale rendered in stunning crosshatched detail by Charles Vess. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Lightly toned, production tape on the side margins, and light handling wear. Original art paste-up in Panel 4. Additional text on a vellum overlay taped from the top of the page. In Excellent condition.
