Description
Joe Shuster - Superman Sketch Original Art (c. 1940s). Shuster, the original Superman artist, often produced spontaneous sketches of his famous creation as a courtesy to the fans. This handsome profile showcases Shuster's styled crosshatched texture, approximately dating the piece at a time before the artist's vision had begun to fail. (Later such drawings show significantly less detail.) Graphite and colored pencil on paper with an matted image area of 6" x 9". Moderate toning and creasing, heavy staining on the reverse side; staining does not affect the art, as almost all staining is not on the direct reverse side of the art itself. Signed and inscribed in bottom area. In Very Good condition.More Information: Updated to note staining does not affect image.
