Description

Richard F. Outcault Buster Brown Sunday Comic Strip Original Art and Tear Sheet (American-Journal Examiner, 1910). Kids running late to school is an old, old problem. This strip is as funny today as it was a 113 years ago! This Sunday features Buster's lovely mother and the two maids pretty extensively. Created in ink over graphite with partial watercolor on Bristol board. The image area measures 18.75" x 23". The partial watercolor was a color guide for the printer's reference. The board is a severely chipped right edge, with a 6.5" rip in the top portion that is repaired with tape on the reverse side. There are chips and rips in the other edges as well. There is also a bit of water stain in the top edge. Signed by Outcault in the lower right margin. In Fair condition. Comes with a tear sheet of the printed comic strip in Poor condition.
