Description

Pablo Marcos Creepy #100 Internal Splash Page 2 Original Art (Warren Publ., 1980). Creepy had provided Marcos with a breakthrough to American comics, and the Peruvian artist rewarded the courtesy with long-term loyalty, even as his reputation spread industrywide. A decade after that U.S. début, Marcos delivered this powerful radial composition for a story called "The Pit at the Center of the Earth!" (the blank space at lower right was designed to accommodate the title). Not only his signature graces the page -- Marcos created the upper-edge shading with his fingerprints. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 10" x 15". Excellent condition, with marginal adhesive residue.
