Description

Calico Mine Ride Costume Original Art and Ride Mannequin (1991). The Calico Mine Ride was shut down in January 2014 for a complete renovation, and re-opened to rave reviews on 6/12/14. The ride, designed and built by Bud Hurlbut, originally opened on November 1960. It was the first major ride in Knott's Berry Farm. This is a great original artwork for updated Calico Mine workers costumes. Swatches of fabric for the new costumes are pasted around original 8" to 10" hand-colored images of the miners. The name "Garner Hot" is in bottom right corner. Overall pieces are glued to a board measuring 20" x 30". Included in this lot is an actual Calico Mine Ride Figure -- the oar cart guy who was located in the Lake Room. This rare prop measures 67" tall and is missing its arms; sold "as is". Art has minor handling and edge wear; overall Very Good condition. A nice piece of Calico Mine Ride history!
