Description

Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos Rod Drill Original Production Cel and Original Animation Drawing (Ashi Productions, 1986-1987). The happy-go-lucky member of the Battle Tribe, Rod Drill, gives a fantastic profile in this hand-painted cel. Machine Robo was produced by Ashi Productions in tandem with Bandai as a merchandise-driven show. Originally aired on 7/3//1986 in Japan, where we see the Cronos Tribe, Jet Tribe and Battle Tribe search the planet Cronos for mysterious Wolf symbols that may have answers to their forgotten past. Machine Robo and specifically Rod Drill, share many similarities to another merchandise-driven show titled Challenge for GoBots that was produced by Hanna-Barbera and Tonka. The characters Rod Drill and Screw Head from the GoBots series were based on the same toy design but ironically one was a hero while the other a villain. The 12 field cel has a character image size measuring at 8.25" x 7.5". The 3-peg hole original drawing is rendered in red, blue, and orange colored pencil. The character image is slightly larger at 8.25" x 8" and the overall condition is Very Good with minor handling wear and edge wear.
