Description

Nebraska McDonaldland Freight Station Mural Design Drawing by Wes Cook Original Art (McDonald's/Setmakers, 1977). A handcar operated by a team of Gobblins comes winding around the bend, much to the surprise of Officer Big Mac, Mayor McCheese, and the Apple Pie Trees, in this adorable hand-drawn wall mural design by legendary McDonaldland artist Wes Cook. While Creative Director at Setmakers, Mr. Cook was the artistic visionary behind this make-believe world. He later went on to become a celebrated theme park designer for Universal Studios, Sea World and Tokyo DisneySea. The graphite artwork, which includes Officer Big Mac, Mayor McCheese, several Gobblins, and Apple Pie Trees, measures 7.5" x 20" on 18" x 24" Setmakers-branded vellum. The design slug in the lower right indicates that it was created for a McDonald's restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska, and is dated 12/6/1977. The art is signed by the artist the lower right corner of the image. The piece shows minor handling wear. Condition is Fine.
