Description

Kaiser Aluminum Campaign Items Group (1959-60). In Stan Freberg's It Only Hurts When I Laugh is a chapter titled "You Could Have Foiled Me." It relates how his comedic genius put together a legendary campaign for Kaiser Aluminum, the result of which was placement of Kaiser Aluminum products in 43,000 new retail outlets. The hugely successful campaign is outlined in great detail on pages 154-173. This is a rare Grocer's Survival Kit that was mailed to potential retailers boasting "Kaiser Foil is quilted and is the only foil that is" and "Yours in sympathy from Kaiser Foil." Also included here is the 1960 French Award Certificate for the TV commercial, written by Freberg, animated by Playhouse Pictures with Bill Melendez, with contributions from Chris Jenkyns of Jay Ward Fame. This grouping also included a file of Freberg's invoices, telegrams, and inter-office memos on the making of the spots. Fascinating history! Minor handling and edge wear; otherwise Fine condition
