Description
Carl Barks Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge: King Solomon's Mines Cover Preliminary Original Art (Gladstone, 1987). Uncle Scrooge #19 Rejected Cover Design Original Art (1956). This and the preceding lot are two cover designs Barks submitted, tying in with the "King Solomon's Mines" adventure story. Western Publishing chose to go with a humorous "snake charmer" cover instead. Rendered in graphite on paper with an image area of 7.5" x 9.5", matted and glass-front framed at 13.25" x 15.25". The tanned paper has light creasing and handling wear and signed by Barks at the bottom. The frame has light wear and overall in Very Good condition.More Information: EDIT: Added history.
