Description

Al Capp Li'l Abner Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-21-52 (United Feature Syndicate, 1952). Sweet Fanny Gooney makes an appearance in this Sunday. She was a parody of Harold Gray's Little Orphan Annie. Capp also used the "comic-strip-within-a-strip" gag when he lampooned Chester Gould's Dick Tracy with the gag-strip Fearless Fosdick. This Sunday was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board sections with a combined image area of 19" x 21.75". The toned board sections were joined with tape on the reverse side. The sections have staining and soiling. In Good condition.
From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
