Description

Howard Nostrand Chamber of Chills #19 Complete 1-Page Story "Chilly Chamber Music" Original Art (Harvey, 1953). With EC Comics setting the blueprint for the horror trend in the 1950s, it didn't take long for Harvey Comics to jump on board in aggressive fashion. Among their standout titles, Chamber of Chills cemented its place in history with one of the era's most iconic covers -- featuring a classy lady in red smoking a cigarette, her ghoulish partner's champagne glass revealing her ghastly skeletal features. Inside this issue, a 1-page feature by Nostrand offers a macabre delight, depicting two lovers engaged in a chilling game of one-upmanship, each unveiling unexpected surprises set to a hauntingly ghoulish tune. Created in twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18.25". Slight toning, whiteout corrections, smudging, marginal spot staining, and minor corner/edge wear. In Very Good condition.
From the Roger Hill Collection.
