Description
Rafael Marcello Superman Géant #1 Cover Original Art (Sagédition, 1979). This cover for a Superman quarterly from France was created in original art based on two different Murphy Anderson posters from 1971. The majority of the image is from a single image, however Superman's "peace sign" hand is actually a reversed-image of his right hand from a different poster also published in 1971. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". His left hand is an original art paste-up that covers up the original hand from the appropriate poster. The lower text trade dressing is printed paste-up. Lightly toned, with pinholes in the top margins. In Very Good condition.More information about European superhero comic artist.
