Description

Todd McFarlane Marvel Comics Presents #32 Wraparound Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1989). Shadowcat desperately avoids falling into the clutches of Rochester as the young X-Man takes center stage on this stunning wraparound cover by Todd McFarlane created during the time he was producing his groundbreaking art on The Amazing Spider-Man. If the enthralling image of a costumed Kitty Pryde wasn't enough, Black Panther, Sunfire, and Coldblood are featured on the back of the anthology issue... three dynamic headshots showcasing McFarlane's uniquely stylized characters. Ink over blue pencil on two conjoined sheets of Marvel Bristol board with a combined image area of 19.75" x 15". The boards are joined with tape on the reverse side. The logo/header, UPC box, and cover text are all stat paste-ups on a clear acetate overlay (the Sunfire text paste-up is directly on the board). Also attached is a paper overlay with graphics notes/effects, and taped on the back is a production stat of the original art that was used for the final cover, with a hand-written explanation by McFarlane. Marginal tape, registration marks, and notes, red keylines in Black Panther's profile, with light staining and handling wear. Signed by McFarlane in the lower image area. In Very Good condition.
