Description
Pat Broderick and Dick Giordano The Fury of Firestorm #1 Cover Original Art (DC, 1982). This fondly remembered issue has taken on new significance lately since the character became a regular on network TV! The original art gives us a good look at the hero's friends, foes (most notably the Hyena and Killer Frost) and even the dual alter-egos of the main character. This issue marked the hero's triumphant return to his own series after being a backup feature elsewhere for several years. The new title ran through 1990. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". There are light smudges around the margins, minor surface dirt on the corners, and pinholes in the top corners and the upper right border. The piece has been cleaned and is slightly wavy. The title and all cover dressings are new replacements affixed to the board. The original toning title and cover dressings are included. There is light adhesive residue on the left margin and under the title, a faint spot stain on the bottom left over the UPC box, a paste-up is missing leaving adhesive residue over the artist signatures on the center bottom border, and rust migration on the upper right border.
