Crime SuspenStories #20 Gaines File Copy Pedigree 4/12 (EC, 1953) CGC NM- 9.2 Off-white to white pages. From a run of never-before-certified Gaines File Copies, comes Johnny Craig's classic hanging cover! Cited in Seduction of the Innocent, the haunting hanging is a favorite among pre-Code and EC Comics collectors. This is the second most expensive book in this title's run, only topped by the infamous beheading cover for #22. Craig, Jack Kamen, Jack Davis, and Reed Crandall provide art for this issue's "SuspenStories". Currently #5 on Overstreet's Top Ten Crime Comics list, this copy includes the signed Gaines File Copy Certificate of Authenticity. Overstreet 2024 NM- 9.2 value = $15,000.
