Description

Erik Larsen and Al Gordon The Amazing Spider-Man #324 Story Page 17 Original Art (Marvel, 1989). Great shot of Spider-Man web-slinging with Solo from only the second issue of Amazing drawn by Erik Larsen, a fill-in before taking over as series penciler from Todd McFarlane just five issue later. The half-splash image has Spidey swinging, reminiscent of the contorted positions and "spaghetti webbing" made famous by McFarlane, taking fire during "The Assassin Nation Plot" storyline. Another fact that makes this page even more desirable to collectors is that pre-1991 Larsen art is in short supply due to a house fire that destroyed all of the art still in his possession at the time. Created in ink and screentone over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15.25", specially matted with the printed page and glass-front framed to 22.75" x 20.75". Slight toning and signed by Larsen in silver ink in the bottom left image area. Light frame wear and in Excellent condition.
