Description

Woodland Café Trio of Original Vintage Color Model/Production Drawings from the "Everybody's Truckin'" Song Sequence (Walt Disney, 1937). This exceptionally rare sequence of three vintage color model/production drawings from Woodland Café (1937) showcases the grasshopper band from this jazz-filled Silly Symphony short. The film, set in a nightclub staffed and frequented entirely by insects, features a swinging orchestra, lively dancing, and a vibrant nightclub atmosphere. These drawings come from the "Everybody's Truckin'" song sequence, which was later removed from The Disney Channel's "Ink and Paint Club" due to concerns over the grasshopper band's resemblance to racial stereotypes. The Woodland Café story was written by Bianca Majolie, who also worked on Fantasia's "Nutcracker Suite". Featuring Technicolor innovation and multiplane camera work, the short included brilliant animation by Ward Kimball (one of "Walt's Nine Old Men") and Disney Legend Jack Hannah. Illustrated in graphite with color pencil on 12-field, 5-peghole animation paper, these drawings are numbered 19, 39, and 229, with number 229 serving as a color model drawing with original color callouts. Exhibiting age-related toning and edge wear, these vintage animation drawings remain in Good condition-a rare and historically significant find for collectors.
