Description

Woodland Café Original Vintage Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). This fantastic vintage production drawing from Woodland Café (1937) features two jitterbug-dancing bug couples in a hilarious and tense moment from this jazz-filled Silly Symphony classic. Directed by Wilfred Jackson, Woodland Café transforms a forest nightclub into a lively hotspot, where fireflies provide the lighting, centipedes deal cards, and insects of all kinds dance the night away. Captured around the 1:57 timestamp, this drawing showcases a caterpillar couple happily dancing-until they collide with another pair, leading to an amusing nose-to-nose confrontation as both couples' faces twist in fury. The artwork, illustrated in graphite with color pencil highlights on 12-field animation paper, features full-body images measuring 10.5" x 5" and is numbered 149. The short was written by Bianca Majolie, who also contributed to Fantasia's "Nutcracker Suite", and featured brilliant animation by Ward Kimball, one of "Walt's Nine Old Men", along with Disney Legend Jack Hannah. Exhibiting age-related toning and edge wear, this vintage production drawing remains in Good condition-a true treasure for Silly Symphony collectors!
