Description

Bob Montana Pep Comics #25 Archie Story Page 2 Original Art (MLJ/Archie, 1942). In this page from the fifth Archie story, we find Riverdale's favorite son converting his jalopy into a taxi service, with the usual hilarious results. This story is notable for several reasons -- this was the first appearance of Archie's jalopy, and although he doesn't much resemble the Weatherbee we know, that first passenger is the High School's new principal, as revealed in the final page of the story. This was also the last Archie story before Veronica joined the cast (in the next issue). The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 13" x 18.25". Other than some minor handling wear in the outer borders and a small stain in the final panel, the page is in Excellent condition.
