Description

Rand Holmes Fog City Comics #3 Complete 7-Page Story Original Art Group of 4 (Stampart, 1979). Holmes, as Canada's answer to such American Underground Comics masters as Robert Crumb and Gilbert Shelton, produced a wealth of taboo-busting stories in a meticulously detailed illustrative style reminiscent of EC Comics mainstay Wally Wood. In this elaborate and violent fantasia, Holmes imagines himself under arrest "for the manufacture and distribution of obscene literature" -- then wakes as if from a dream to find himself recounting the misadventure to a psychiatrist. There are prominent elements of nudity, gore, drug references, and harsh language. The story reappeared in 1985 in Death Rattle #2. Ink, shading film, and white paint over graphite on illustration board, with an image area of 9" x 13.5" The pages are created two per board (except for Page 7). Excellent condition, with light handling wear.
