Bill Sienkiewicz New Universe Promotional Painting Original Art (Marvel, 1986). Few images define the New Universe like this eye-catching, oversized promotional painting, rendered by the expressionistic drafting hand of Bill Sienkiewicz. This inaugural cast of the short-lived universe features Starbrand leading the pack, flanked by Nightmask, Mark Hazzard, the Psi-Hawk, Spitfire, All-American of Kickers Inc., and Mastodon of D.P. 7. The New Universe ran from 1986 to 1989 as Marvel's 25th anniversary project, presenting heroes in a harsher, more grounded world. Painted in mixed media with an image area of 25.5" x 39", matted and Plexiglas-front framed to 36.75" x 50.5". Signed and dated by Sienkiewicz in the image area.
