Bob Powell and Norman Saunders Batman (Black Bat) #17 Trading Card Illustration Painting Original Art (Topps, 1966). In 1966, Batmania was large and in charge. All things Batman were hot, due to the popularity of the TV series. Some of the hottest were the Batman trading cards. Here, Batman faces the "Spikes of Death" on this Bat-tastic painting that appears in the "Black Bat" series of trading cards which featured the Penguin as the villain in this sub-set. An incredible piece with sharp colors, it is produced in ink and gouache over graphite on 4.75" x 3.5" paper that has been skimmed from the original art board. It is in Excellent condition and comes with a copy of the 1989 reissue edition of the printed card. Pow!
