Greg and Tim Hildebrandt Star Wars Galaxy Magazine # 5 Cover Painting Original Art (Topps, 1995). The Brothers Hildebrandt, who had painted perhaps the most well-known Star Wars painting in 1977, reunited in the early 90s and created only their second Star Wars painting in 1995, for use as a cover for Topps' Star Wars consumer magazine. This luminous cover painting features the four known Jedi at the time Luke Skywalker, Master Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the failed Jedi who turned to the Dark Side... Darth Vader. This gorgeous new work was also used as a promo trading card (#P6) included with the magazine and featured in series three of Topps Star Wars Galaxy trading cards (#310); the image was also used for promotional ads and was most recently showcased in Taschen's 2020 Masterpieces of Fantasy Art.Created in acrylic on pressboard and signed in the lower left of the 21.5" x 32.5" image area. Open-front framed to 24.5" x 35.5". In Excellent condition.
