Description

Lee Elias Black Cat Mystery #48 Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1954). It was the early 1950s... and horror was king, or at least nearly so. Long-running superheroes found themselves as the "horror hosts" for their own comic magazines. That's how Black Cat Comics came to be listed as Black Cat Mystery. The cross-genre efforts at least gave us some fantastic covers and stories! Check out this creepy denizen-of-the-deep zombie cover by the masterful Lee Elias, created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.75" x 15.5". The logo/masthead is a modern-day re-creation stat paste-up. There is a crease across the center of the image area. In Good condition.
From the Roger Hill Collection.
