Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant #545 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-20-47 (King Features Syndicate, 1947). This HUGE work features eight incredibly powerful panels. One of them is almost as big as a comic book art double-page spread! Foster really drove home the old adage that "A picture is worth 1,000 words". The amount of detail allows each panel on this Sunday to tell its own story. The composition of each panel is simply flawless. Created in ink over graphite on two sections of Bristol board with a combined image area of 24.25" x 33.75". The boards are joined with tape on the reverse side. They are toned, with red ink keylines. The logo is a vintage printed paste-up that has discolored. The text in Panels 1 and 2 are replacement stats. In Very Good condition.
