Star Wars #1 35¢ Price Variant (Marvel, 1977) CGC VF/NM 9.0 White pages. The most valuable comic book produced during the 1970s -- made even more valuable in this extremely rare 35¢ price variant, which was test-marketed in a limited area of the US. Overstreet notes: "limited distribution -- 1,500 copies?" and "Prices vary widely on this book." It contains the first installment of the comic book adaptation of the seminal sci-fi movie, and launched the 108-issue run of Marvel's first Star Wars title. Howard Chaykin provided the cover and art. Currently #1 on Overstreet's list of Top 25 Bronze Age Comics. Overstreet 2024 VF/NM 9.0 value = $10,250; NM- 9.2 value = $16,000. CGC census 8/25: 27 in 9.0, 31 higher.
