Star Spangled Comics #69 The Promise Collection Pedigree (DC, 1947) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages. This is the top copy on CGC's census! Comics with black covers are easily scuffed and dinged, making them difficult to obtain in high grades, especially a nearly 80-year-old book such as this one, which outscores even the impressive Mile High and Crippen copies. This issue featured the origin and first appearance of Tomahawk, with art by Fred Ray, plus an atom bomb story and splash page. Overstreet 2024 NM- 9.2 value = $4,200.
