Description
Superman #1 Verified Signature -- Signed By Siegel, Shuster, and Others (DC, 1939) CBCS Conserved GD- 1.8 Cream to off-white pages. This is now the third most valuable comic book issue, and the book has seen its Overstreet value triple, or in high grades, even quadruple! Augmenting the value for this copy are the signatures on the cover. It's been signed by co-creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, Joanne Siegel (the original model for Lois Lane), and by Kirk Alyn, the actor who portrayed Superman in the 1948 film and the subsequent serial. As CBCS notes on the back of the label, the signatures were authenticated by CSA Comics LLC. In this issue, Superman's origin is retold and there is a pin-up of Supes on the back cover. CBCS notes, "Amateur Conservation includes: cover reinforced, spine splits sealed, tear seals to cover & interior" and also notes, "tape on interior." Overstreet 2015 GD 2.0 value = $50,000. CGC census 7/15: 3 in 1.8; 23 higher.More information about Superman, and Superman #1 Comic Title.
