Description
Sub-Mariner Comics #32 The Promise Collection Pedigree (Timely, 1949) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Overstreet calls this issue "scarce," and it's the last issue of the series' original run, and the last Timely issue. The Sub-Mariner would not be heard from again until 1954. Subby's origin is retold here, with triple threat Bill Everett providing the story, cover, and art for the book. If the 7.0 grade doesn't wow you -- it probably should, as this is the brightest copy we've seen to date, and it lacks the smudging on the yellow area that so often plagues other copies. Overstreet 2024 FN 6.0 value = $1,458; VF 8.0 value = $3,550. CGC census 5/25: 4 in 7.0, 5 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
