Phantom Lady #17 (Fox, 1948) CGC FN+ 6.5 Cream to pink pages. This classic bondage cover and interior art by Matt Baker makes for one of the most iconic pre-Code comics. In Seduction of the Innocent, Dr. Fredric Wertham described the classic cover as "a sadist's dream." This pivotal example of Baker's "good girl" art has a high tendency to sell far above Guide value. To give you an idea of how far: a copy certified 6.0, one notch lower than the one offered here, sold for $42,000 here at Heritage last year.
