Hangman Comics #2 (MLJ, 1942) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. This absolutely obliterates any copy we have seen to date -- the best one we had offered in our 23 years had been a lackluster VG/FN. And what a collectible issue this is, the first issue of the title, with numbering continued from Special Comics. The series only lasted seven issues, no doubt because moms didn't love a "Hangman" character -- this first issue even has a hangman's rope forming the logo! Readers were also treated to the first appearances of Rabbit, Captain Swastika, and the Clockmaker. Harry Lucey drew the frantic cover and art. Paul Reinman art. CGC notes, "Very minor amount of glue on page 19 & 20." Overstreet 2023 VF 8.0 value = $2,940; VF/NM 9.0 value = $5,170. CGC census 5/24: 2 in 8.5, none higher.CGC Grader Notes:
