Description

Captain America Comics #3 (Timely, 1941) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Cream to off-white pages. Stan Lee's first comic book work is finally getting the acclaim it always deserved. Yes, the text story in this issue was written by a very young Stan, and one of the greatest careers in the history of comics was off and running. Of course that's far from the only thing the book has going for it. There's a classic bondage cover featuring the Red Skull, by the great Alex Schomburg, and of course the issue is one of the earliest appearances of the title character, written and drawn by his creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. CGC notes, "Centerfold detached." Overstreet 2019 VG 4.0 value = $5,200; FN 6.0 value = $7,800. CGC census 7/20: 6 in 5.0, 24 higher.
