Lawrence Sterne Stevens Famous Fantastic Mysteries August 1949 "The Valley of Silent Men" Page 57 Illustration Original Art (Frank A. Munsey, 1949). A breathtaking vision of Empress Ala radiates from this stunning illustration, her luminous beauty set against a dark, star-strewn sky as she meets Victor Marshall's gaze with regal challenge. Charles Vivian's tale of English adventurer Marshall stumbling upon a lost valley ruled by descendants of ancient Chaldean colonists. Toning, staining, smudging, minor abrasions on border and in margin, paper affixed on right edge, tape around edges, adhesive residue staining, whiteout touch-ups, creasing on right edge, and handling wear.
