Description
Harvey Kurtzman Frontline Combat #3 Cover Original Art (EC, 1951). A classic EC War cover by legendary Harvey Kurtzman! ! This dramatic image is definitive of EC's war titles, and the hall of fame EC and MAD artist is most fondly remembered for his critically acclaimed covers and stories done for the groundbreaking 1950s books. Kurtzman's peak period original art is scarce on the marketplace, especially for iconic covers such as this one-collectors just rarely turn them loose, and this example has been buried until now. This twice-up scale beauty was created in ink with red ink keylines over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.25" x 19". All header dressing and logo are stat paste-ups affixed directly to the board. The board is lightly toned, with a bit of discoloring/stains in the margins and has been affixed to a 16" x 23.5" illustration board. In Very Good condition.More information about Harvey Kurtzman.
