Description

Richard Corben Fantagor #4 Cover Original Art (Last Gasp, 1972). A classic buxom damsel in distress, as rendered by an artist who was about to become a regular featured artist in Heavy Metal magazine... Mr. Richard Corben. This issue was the first appearance in print of the world that Den would inhabit. Both Den and the world he inhabits first appeared in a 1968 animated short Neverwhere. Corben's Den appeared in animated form again when he got his own segment in the 1981 Heavy Metal movie. This cover was created in ink, marker, and white paint over graphite on paper with an image area of 9.5" x 14". Signed in the lower right side of the image area. Matted to 14" x 19". The paper has a crease in the upper right and lower right. The marker on the logo has diffused into the page and bled. In Very Good condition.
