SpongeBob SquarePants "The Chaperone" SpongeBob Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 2000). Cautiously approaching the sounds of distress, presented here is wary original production cel of SpongeBob in his work uniform from the Episode 12 segment "The Chaperone" of his titular Nicktoon. Currently the fourth-longest running American animated series ever, with 15 seasons and counting, SpongeBob SquarePants is a wildly-popular Nickelodeon original created by marine science teacher, Stephen Hillenburg. Notably only Season 1 was produced using traditional cel animation, making offerings like this highly collectable. "The Chaperone" premiered on March 8, 2000 and saw SpongeBob escort Pearl to her prom at the behest of her father and his boss, Mr. Krabs. This moment can be spotted early on near the 0:30 timestamp of the segment when viewed online as SpongeBob tiptoes towards sobbing Pearl to determine why she's so upset. He has been hand-painted with hand-inked detail to fantastic full-figure measuring 2.75" x 3" nicely centered on the 12 field cel which bears production codes along the lower edge and has been paired with a print background for display purposes; a CoA is also included. With typical handling and edge wear including minor linework wear, overall this trepidatious sponge is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
