Description
Gegege no Kitaro Sunakake Babaa, Nurikabe, and Neko Musume Production Cel with Key Master Background, Animation Drawing, Layout Drawing, and Exposure Sheet (Toei Animation, c. 1996-98). From the 1996 iteration of the long-running horror/comedy franchise Gegege no Kitaro, presented is a fantastic hand-painted original production cel featuring Sunakake Babaa, Nurikabe, and Neko Musume. This dramatic low-angle shot is displayed on its original Key Master background rendered in gouache on board. Numbered A1 in the upper right corner, this rare cel is joined by its matching original animation drawing and the matching layout drawing for the scene. The drawings are rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field animation paper. In addition, this lot includes a studio exposure sheet for the scene. Overall minor handling and edge wear, and the layout show pieces of tape and a staple at the top edge. Some adhesion between the cel and background.
