Description
Boat Builders Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). Mickey gets a little hung up when he tries to complete his boat kit, but at least the telescoped mast is set up! This endearing moment can be found at about 1:50 in the Ben Sharpsteen-directed short that followed Mickey, Donald, and Goofy as they tried and failed to put together the mouse's boat kit. This was the third of five theatrical shorts featuring Mickey and his crew on a boat. There are similar disastrous consequences to the boat in this animation, the Queen Minnie falling to pieces moments after it departs. The lovely drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil, labeled 102 in the lower right with the note 'finish' along the right edge. The mouse is large and centered on the page, measuring approximately 7.25'' x 8'', swaying like a flag in the wind. Very Good condition overall with minor edge and handling wear and light age-related toning.Auction Info
