Description

Mickey's Rival Rare Hand-Colored Studio Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1936). This incredible and rare model sheet print comes from the 1936 animated short Mickey's Rival directed by Wilfred Jackson (1906 - 1988) and Graham Heid (1909 - 1976). The short follows Mickey's rival, Mortimer, as he tries to win Minnie over, but things quickly get out of hand when he aggravates a nearby bull. The model sheet print includes both of of the cars in the short addition to a size comparison of Mortimer, Minnie, Mickey, and El Toro with hand-colored highlights. This was a vital part to the story process at Disney and helped the artists stay consistent in their character work as well as animation. The drawing is presented in a 14.5'' x 10.5'' mat window. The mat board itself measures about 19.5'' x 15.75''. Some age-related toning with minor handling wear and faint stains. Good condition overall for this rare gem!
