Description

Rare Mickey Mouse Comic Test Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). This is a very rare Mickey test drawing for a comic that was released on 7/16/33 on the Sunday comic page. The comic strip debuted in January of 1930 and ran until July of 1995. Presented on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper, this remarkable drawing features an injured Mickey walking with crutches and a bandaged foot. It includes star and line effects to highlight the injury and is rendered expertly with graphite. The lot comes with a printed page of Mickey from the published comic strip. He is in a slightly different pose, though the details are still present. The full figure measures about 3.25'' x 4.25''. Some age-related toning with minor edge and handling wear, pinholes, and faint creases as expected from studio use. Good condition overall for this amazing vintage drawing.
