Description
Space Stars (Space Ghost) Jan and Blip Production Cels on Production Backgrounds Group of 2 (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1981). Space Ghost's young sidekick Jan and the group's little masked pet Blip the Monkey are featured in this impressive pair of original hand-painted 12 field production cels. Created by well-known comic book artist Alex Toth, Space Ghost was a action-packed science-fiction animated series that premiered on 9/10/66 and lasted for 42 thrilling episodes on NBC. The series was later revived for the Saturday morning animated program block Space Stars, airing from 1981 to 1982; these cels are believed to be from that later series. Jan's approximate image size is 4" x 4.75"; Blip being handed a small book an overall size of 9.5" x 4.5". Both cels have been placed on original hand-painted production backgrounds, painted in gouache on lightweight board with overall sizes of 13.75" x 10.75" for Jan, and 14.25" x 10.5" for Blip (with tape along the bottom edge). Condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.Auction Info
