Description

Peter Pan Tinkerbell Animation Drawing Signed by Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1953). "Tink! Shh! Stop playing and help me find my shadow." Giving in to her vanity rather than helping Peter, presented here is a phenomenally large and quintessentially Tinker Bell drawing signed by Disney Legend Marc Davis (1913 - 2000) from her debut in the 1953 Disney classic Peter Pan. Also a member of Walt's Nine Old Men, Davis served as both character designer and supervising animator for Tinker Bell who would grow into a beloved favorite character and later serve as a secondary mascot for the Studio. Seen early in the feature near the 11:36 timestamp after arriving at the Darling's nursery, Tink is spotted admiring her reflection in a hand mirror shortly before becoming quite distressed at the perceived size of her hips. Rendered in graphite and blue pencil to an astonishingly grand three-quarters figure size of 4" x 10", Tink spans nearly the full height of the 16 field animation sheet which features Davis's signature near the lower left almost as if the pixie is looking right at it! The piece has been framed under Plexiglas to an overall size of 20" x 21.5" with a main aperture of 13" x 11" and an additional 5.5" x 1.75" aperture containing a plaque describing the piece. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning and small areas of smudging, overall this fabulous fairy is in Very Good condition.
