SpongeBob SquarePants "Hall Monitor" Production Cel with Master Background (Nickelodeon, 1999). The extremely proud hall monitor SpongeBob SquarePants is fully displayed in this amazing production cel from the Episode "Hall Monitor," showcased taped to a gorgeous pan-sized Master background of the streets of Bikini Bottom. Seen at about the 2:33 mark of the episode, this hand-painted production cel has a wonderful 3.25" x 4.5" image of SpongeBob wearing the hall monitor's hat and band, posing boastfully (just before he gets run over by the class). The amazing image of everyone's favorite sponge is featured on a Master pan background from the episode, seen starting at the 3:17 mark as SpongeBob walks through town. The fabulous background, attributed to Peter Bennett, Michael Chen, or Andy Clark, was created with gouache on background board, measuring an astonishing image size of 20.5" x 8", numbered BG 52 near the bottom right corner, showcases many of the elements that make SpongeBob backgrounds so recognizable, like the flower-shaped clouds, the emblematic building and houses, and the fabulous splatter effect on the ground. The background presents light surface scuffing that doesn't affect the art, and minor creasing near the right edge. With light handling and edge wear from production.
